What is a B Corp?
You might have noticed the B Corp symbol on some of your favourite brands. So what does it mean?
B Corporations, or B Corps, are businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. B Corps transcend industry: organisations producing anything from clothing and cleaning products to stationary and food products can become B Corps - as long as they can meet the social and environment criteria and are committed to continuous improvement. At Pixii we live by these values, and we are so proud to now have the B Corp stamp of approval.
B Corp certification is managed by B Lab™, a not-for-profit organisation that advocates for using business as a force of good. B Corps measure success not just in financial terms, but through the social and environmental positive impact we create. B Corp Certification is holistic, and does not exclusively focus on a single social or environmental issue.

How did Pixii certify as a B Corp?
To achieve B Corp Certification, we undertook B Lab's comprehensive and rigorous impact assessment. The five major pillars of impact as set out in the B Impact Assessment™ are governance, workers, customers, communities, and the environment.
We gain points for the processes and policies we have in place that have a positive impact on those pillars. The better the impact, the higher the score.
Organisations can only attain B Corp Certification if they receive a minimum verified score of 80 points.
We had to provide substantiating evidence of all our claims, followed up with stringent reviews and interviews by B Lab.

We received a huge 116.1 points on the B Impact Assessment!
That's across all five impact areas.
B Corp requires a minimum of 80 points to pass the Assessment. Ordinary businesses have a median score of 50.9.
This certification took a lot of hard of work from everyone in our team for over 18 months, but it was worth it!

What next?
B Corp Certification doesn't end here.
We are committed to continuous improvement for all our stakeholders: our customers, our staff, our community, and our environment.
In three years, we will begin the B Corp recertification process, which requires us to improve upon our assessment score, ensuring that we satisfy new any standards and continue to improve.
In the meantime, we will keep thinking up new ways for us to increase our positive impact across Australia and New Zealand!
